Top 10: Songs that Remind Me of Books.

We have a Freebie Topic this week for our Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by: The Broke and The Bookish. Freebie’s are always bitter sweet for me because I can never narrow my topics down to the one I really want to do. Today was no exception, I had a few that I desperately wanted to write about. In the end I decided on ‘Songs that Remind Me of Books’, I always hear songs that immediately remind me of books I’ve read. Here are the Top 10 that I came up with that I think fit PERFECTLY with these books. Whether it be throughout the entire book or specific scenes. This week I’m changing it up, they are in no particular order. :)

Near To You by: A Fine Frenzy New Moon by: Stephanie Meyer As soon as I heard this song, I thought of Jacob and Bella’s Relationship in New Moon. It is basically like A Fine Frenzy wrote this song specifically for Stephenie Meyer. If I were numbering these, this would hands down be my #1.

If Today Was Your Last Day by: Nickelback Before I Fall by: Lauren Oliver This song talks about what you’d do on your last day, and that is exactly what Sam tackles in Before I Fall. She figures out exactly what she’d do.

Stay Here Forever by: Jewel Catching Fire by: Suzanne Collins A lot during this book the characters want to freeze time or runaway, and for the most part stay with those they love. I think this song portrays their relationships perfectly.

Hands of Time by: Rachel Diggs Thirteen Reasons Why by: Jay Asher You can’t change the past but you can change what you do in the future. Which is why I believe this song fits so well with this book, Hannah makes it known to those who directly affected why she committed suicide. Which in turn makes sure it doesn’t happen to someone else.

It’s My Life by: Bon Jovi The Maze Runner by: James Dashner All Thomas and the other characters want is to be able to live their lives the way they want. They want to be able to take control of their lives but because of the maze and WICKED they can’t. I think Bon Jovi’s ‘Its My Life’ fits their situation so well.

The Story by: Brandi Carlile Matched by: Ally Condie Ky and Cassia learn about each other by telling the stories of their lives, I can’t think of a better song for them.

Goodbye in Her Eyes by: Zac Brown Band The Best of Me by: Nicholas Sparks This is a book I just recently finished and this song hit home for me when Amanda went and saw Dawson, you could just tell something was wrong. No matter how much I wanted to change it, she broke my heart in that moment.

Wipe Your Eyes by: Maroon 5 Prodigy by: Marie Lu This song is for the very last scene of the book between June and Day. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

How Do I Live by: LeAnn Rimes Pride and Prejudice by: Jane Austen Darcy and Elizabeth are so in love and you can just tell that it is undeniable. Their chemistry is phenomenal and I could definitely see them asking ‘How Do I Live Without You?”.

Worry List by: Blue October Surrender by: Elana Johnson This song is amazing and one of my favorites. I always felt it portrayed Raine and Gunner’s relationship. They are one of my favorite couples just because even though they both worry about the other, they know that they are the strongest people.
