BTT: Playing With Your Emotions

Hey all! Today I’m going to do the Playing With Your Emotions Book Tag, I read this one over on Books, Biscuits, and Tea and had to snatch it up. I get super emotional over everything, just because you know those feels get to me. Say Something STILL reminds me of If I Stay, making me all teary eyed every time it comes on. Just to name one example, and believe me there are about a million others. Oh the feels. But what would be reading without them?! Without further ado, here we go:

The book that makes me HAPPY…

For this one I’m going to go with Attachments by: Rainbow Rowell, super witty characters with some incredibly awkward happenstances that I found completely relatable.

The book that makes me SAD…

My final decision is The Best of Me by: Nicholas Sparks. This one had me bawling my eyes out (not the only book that resulted in this reaction) at my kitchen table, while my family shook their heads at me…although the writing is beautiful and the ending was just plain poetic. My heart can’t handle this.

The book that makes me ANGRY…

Allegiant by: Veronica Roth. Just to clear things up the ending actually isn’t why this book makes me angry. I really like the ending…don’t throw stones at me. But I hated the direction the series went, the first two books are INCREDIBLE and this one fell really short for me.

The series that makes me NOSTALGIC…

Is this answer anything but Harry Potter? LOVE.

The book that makes me SCARED…

Unbreakable by: Kami Garcia. I don’t read horror or even many mysteries but this series has ghosts and seances and all things haunted. Great book…still slightly terrifying.

The book that SURPRISED me the most…

I’m going with City of Bones by: Cassandra Clare. I’ve said this time and time again…who does this to their readers?! Took me completely off guard!!

The book that DISAPPOINTED me the most…

I don’t get too disappointed with my books often, but I’d have to go with The Casual Vacancy by: J.K. Rowling. She did tie up all the loose ends by the last page, in that precise, intricate way Rowling does that was literally flawless. But the journey to getting there was not my favorite. A little too crude and graphic for my taste.

The book that made me feel DISTRESSED…

Looking for Alaska by: John Green. I was stressed, frustrated, and a little pained at reading this. Just not my cup of tea. The entire time whilst reading I kept thinking about how much everyone raves about this one, I just couldn’t see it.

The book that CONFUSED me…

I just finished This One Summer by: Mariko Tamaki, and granted this was my first take on a graphic novel but I was SO CONFUSED. I got to the end, and I couldn’t figure out if there was a moral of the story or what. The scenes jumped around, and back and forth. Sorry…maybe I’m just not meant for graphic novels!!
