I have been MIA for a couple of weeks, actually I have been in Florida adjusting to life. But as it is, I have had little time for posting and I’m sick right now, so hurray I’m doing a TTT to make me feel better. My classics list is indeed classic because this list has varied little over the years! So they probably seem familiar! But I’ve read many more classics due to my English classes for my major and the majority of my favorites have held strong. Particularly my LOVE for F. Scott Fitzgerald. He is indubitably my favorite by far. My goal is to read several others of his stories this year. Cross your fingers!!! His language is to die for. If I ever received a love letter from him I would have a literal heart attack, his writing is that incredible. ANYWAYS because it can be boring reading the same list over and over. I did my Top 5 Best and Worst. Hoping to add explanations later but as my schedule has been crazy, we shall see if that happens! So without further ado…my TTT:
BEST
1. The Great Gatsby by: F. Scott Fitzgerald
2. Of Mice and Men by: John Steinbeck
3. Pride and Prejudice by: Jane Austen
4. Catch 22 by: Joseph Heller
5. Romeo and Juliet by: William Shakespeare
WORST
1. Crime and Punishment by: Fyodor Dostoyevsky
2. The Chosen by: Chaim Potok
3. Red Badge of Courage by: Stephen Crane
4. Beowulf
5. Dracula by: Bram Stoker
I wasn’t much fond of Crime & Punishment, either. All the Russian classics I’ve read have been a bit long and dark for my taste.
